Trip motivation
We took a family trip to Paris in May 2022 and had an absolutely glorious time. The food, art, people, and everything about the city makes me want to go back!
This post highlights details on where we stayed. It’s always tricky to balance being close to transport, being inexpensive, and being safe. In Versailles, and near Disney, we stayed in hotels that were pretty basic while in Paris we splurged and used points for a more luxurious stay. All locations were easy walks to trains and perfect for our needs.

How we searched for Accomodations
We relied on booking.com and the Hyatt website to find hotels for each spot. We found a balance of being close to transport, being inexpensive, and being safe. In Versailles, and near Disney, we stayed in hotels that were pretty basic while in Paris we splurged and used points for a more luxurious stay. All locations were easy walks to trains and perfect for our needs.
Versailles-La Suite Versaillaise Apartment
In Versailles, we found a small apartment on booking called La Suite Versaillaise . This felt very much like an AirBnB apartment with a small living room and kitchen, a small bedroom and the smallest shower ever. Location-wise, it was a 5 minute walk to the train station and a 10 minute walk to the palace.
Hyatt Paris Madeleine
In addition to having the room rate being free due to points, we have Hyatt globalist status which gives us some cool perks. The hotel was gorgeous. Everyone was so kind and we were personally greeted by the general manager and received a welcome gift of macarons, chocolates, and juices for the kids. The best thing about the hotel was its location. It was very convenient. About a 5 minute walk to the metro and a 15 minutes walk to Tuileries garden.
Room
While the basic room is small, I emailed the hotel ahead of time to ask if they could upgrade us and we were confirmed into a suite. The room didn’t have a separate area but it did have plenty of space and a nice pull-out sofa. For more on sleeping on vacations, see this post here. We’re definitely not looking forward to future days when we have to pay for 2 hotel rooms.
Food and Drinks
Due to our status, we had a free buffet breakfast. There was a delicious buffet in addition to ala carte items such as crepes and omelets.
There was also an evening reception with a drink each and some small bowls of popcorn and madeleines to snack on.
Disneyland area Hotel
For our last few days, we booked a hotel on trips.com called Aparthotel Adagio Serris. This hotel was about a 15 minute walk to the parks and near a shopping mall and some cute bakeries and restaurants. There were several options on-site and a few that were a little farther away. This hotel had a small market area and a nice outdoor pool. The hotel hallways and rooms were basic and a little run-down but this hotel’s location overweighed all other concerns and sufficiently met our needs.
